Lent 2019 Programs

I Love to Tell the Story

Lent is a season in the church intended for us as Christians to stop and meditate upon the heart of God’s love story as we know it through Jesus Christ and the gift of His death and resurrection. As we thus ponder the story anew each year, may it also be a time for us to find ever new ways to tell the story so others may come to know God’s love, too.

To that end, our theme for Lent will be “I Love to Tell the Story”. Each week, you and your family will have the opportunity to ponder some biblical stories, think about your own stories of faith and family and then to creatively share them with the community through writing, art, music, craft, and other forms of expressive storytelling. Submissions will be displayed “gallery style” within the church and all who submit will receive some form of “prize” as we get to the Easter celebration. Weekly themes, bible readings, questions to ponder and activity options will be posted to our Facebook page as well as distributed through a weekly email to the congregation.

And for those whose creative juices flow from face-to-face interactions, we have planned two community, intergenerational evenings on Sunday, March 24th and Sunday, April 7, 5:00-6:30 p.m. Pizza will be provided.
