Lent begins on Wednesday, February 17th with the penitential remembrance of the imposition of ashes. This year for Lent, we will take time to walk the Via Dolorosa—Latin for “The Suffering Way.” In contemporary translation, it is often referred to as “The Way of the Cross.” The Via Dolorosa is an actual path in the old city of Jerusalem that is believed to be the road which Jesus walked to his crucifixion. For us, we will take time through sermons, art, family or small group conversations to explore the “Stations of the Cross.” This year there are three ways you can take part in the imposition of ashes. Please contact the church office by Friday, February 12 to request what distribution method you will partake in:

• 12:00 p.m. drive-thru blessing at NJLC on Wednesday, 2/17/21.

• 4:00 p.m. drive-thru blessing at NJLC on Wednesday, 2/17/21

• Porch drop off of supply kits for at-home use. Drop off will be on Monday, 2/15/21 or Tuesday, 2/16/21. Must be requested by Friday, 2/12/21.
