This February we will be collecting items and monetary donations to assemble personal care kits for Lutheran World Relief (LWR). The deadline for donations will be February 28, 2018. Drop off can be made at NJLC.

Lutheran World Relief sends these kits to disaster areas worldwide.  This year, the NJLC Women of the ELCA and the worship committee will partner with the Lovettsville community on this exciting project.

Contents of each kit (LWR has specific requirements):

• 1 Towel of a dark color and light weight, size between 20” x 40” (min) and 52” x 27” (max). (Walmart carries a brand called Mainstay that works well.)

• 2 Four-ounce bars of soap

• 1 Toothbrush

• 1 Comb

• 1 Nail Clipper  

Monetary donations for purchasing items or shipping will also be appreciated.  Cost to ship each kit is $2.65. Checks may be made payable to NJ WELCA.

Assembly of the personal care kits will take place as part of a Mid-Lenten Service Program on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. For more information on our Lenten Service Program, click here.
